Long haired, goatie and the eyes of a maniac, professional darter Simon Whitlock from Australia is a remarkable appearance at the oche. During his long carreer Whitlock has made the switch from BDO to the PDC a few times. He has been very succesfull in both organisations being the 2010 runner-up in the PDC world championship and winning the 2012 European Championship. As of 2015 Whitlock's results have declined a bit, but he is still a force in the top ten of the PDC Order of Merit. In 2012 Whitlock threw a 9-dart finish during the Premier League of Darts.

During his BDO period which lasted from 2004 till 2009, Whitlock reached the finals in the 2008 World Championship, losing to Mark Webster 7 sets to 5. His most powerful weapon are high finishes and consistent scoring. These assetts put a lot of pressure on his opponents.
